The second half started, in the 60th minute, Vietnam scored the first goal 1-0. Nguyen Quang Hai crossed the ball into the penalty area to Vu Van Thanh who headed it to Nguyen Xuan Son who headed it into the net. In the 74th minute, Vietnam extended their lead to 2-0. Nguyen Xuan Son intercepted the ball from the middle of the field before carrying it into the penalty area and shooting a left-footed shot into the goal.
